Salman death threats: All you need to know about the controversial case involving Lawrence Bishnoi

Entertainment Desk

Bollywood actor Salman Khan is back in the news, facing new death threats. The actor’s personal assistant Jordy Patel received a threatening mail on Saturday on behalf of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s aide Goldy Bhai alias Goldy Brar.

The controversial email questioned if Salman had seen Bishnoi’s interview from the jail three days ago, wherein the gangster had claimed that the goal of his life was to “kill Salman Khan”. Read on to know all about this controversial case.

Salman Khan was expected to begin the promotional events of his upcoming release ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, but he has been asked to avoid the same. A source told ETimes, “His team has been told to avoid any on ground events for the next few days. He also has a movie release coming up and they will have to plan any promotional activities accordingly." ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ is scheduled to hit the screens on April 21.

Following these threats, security arrangements for Salman Khan have been increased. An entire contingent of Mumbai police have been stationed outside the actor’s Bandra residence for security checks. The actor’s movements have also been restricted, a source told ETimes that the cops have recommended changes to Salman Khan's schedule keeping in mind his security. ETimes has learnt that the actor is currently not in Mumbai and there's no clarity when he's expected to return.

Soon after receiving the complaint about the threatening mail from Khan’s director friend Prashant Gunjalkar, the Bandra police registered an FIR against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his aide Goldie Brar, and the sender of the mail Rohit Garg. The case has been registered under sections 506(2),120(b) & 34 of IPC for allegedly sending threatening emails to Salman’s office. The actor’s PA, Jordy Patel, received the threatening mail three days after Bishnoi threatened to kill Khan in an interview to a news channel, after which Mumbai police carried out the actor’s security audit.

Salman Khan has been facing threats from Lawrence Bishnoi ever since his name was embroiled in the blackbuck poaching case. Lawrence had stated that Salman’s act had hurt the sentiments of the Bishnois, who consider the blackbucks as sacred. Last year Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan had received a threatening letter. Following these threats, the actor was given Y plus security in 2022. Salman Khan was also granted a gun license last year for the purpose of self protection.
