State-owned Rupali Bank Limited has taken a special initiative to increase the remittance in the country ahead of Eid al-Azaha.

The campaign titled 'Rupali Bank Remittance Service Program' was inaugurated on Sunday by the bank's Chairman Kazi Sanaul Hoque and Managing Sirector and CEO Mohammad Jahangir.

At this time, Kazi Sanaul Hoque called upon the customers to send remittances through legitimate means for the sake of the country. He also said that the main goal of this program is to send remittances through legitimate channels and to encourage expatriate Bangladeshis to send remittances directly to Rupali Bank through banks.

Mohammad Jahangir, Managing Director and CEO of the bank, said that the main objective of this campaign is to bring back the old remittance customers of Rupali Bank to the bank and create new customers. He also said that the growth of remittances will play an important role in the development of the country.

It is mentioned here that the campaign will run from May 28 to June 27. Expatriates will get a chance to win the lottery if they send money through Rupali Bank in the next one month. During this campaign, lottery will be held every week among Rupali Bank remittance customers. There will be 5 winners each week.

Lottery prizes include 5 100 cc motorcycles, 5 40 inch smart TVs, 5 microwave ovens, 5 smart phones and 5 dinner sets, totaling 25 prizes. As a result of this initiative, expatriates will be encouraged to send remittances through legal channels, which will bring some relief to the country's economy at this time of dollar crisis.

During the campaign, the beneficiaries of cash remittances distributed through all branches and sub-branches of Rupali Bank and those customers who send direct remittance to their Rupali Bank account through the contracted exchange houses/banks of Rupali Bank from abroad, all those customers will be considered to participate in the lottery to receive prizes.

At the end of every week, the lottery draw will be held on the first working day of the following week and the names of the lottery winners will be announced on Rupali Bank's website and Facebook page.
