Rear Admiral Ziaul Haque takes charge as DG of Coast Guard

Rear Admiral Md. Ziaul Haque has taken the charge as the 15th Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Thursday, says a press release.
On September 29, he was appointed as the Director General of the Coast Guard in the notification of the Ministry of Public Administration's Mission-1 Division.
Previously he was Senior Directing Staff (Navy) at the National Defense College.
Media Officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard Lt. Commander Lt. Commander Khandaker Munif Taki said, Rear Admiral Md. Ziaul Haque joined the Bangladesh Navy in 1989.
He completed the Naval Officers Training Course in Germany and was commissioned in the Executive Branch on 1 July 1991. Later his service life was enriched with maritime experience, various trainings conducted at home and abroad and engagement in important responsibilities.
He served as captain of five warships of Bangladesh Navy ranging from patrol craft to frigates. He served as the captain of BNS Ulka and BNS Shaheed Moazzam, two very important bases of Bangladesh Navy.
He was appointed as Instructor of Torpedo and Submarine School at Banouja Isakhan, Training Coordinating Officer of Bangladesh Naval Academy, Training Commander of Training Ship BNS Umar Farooq and Senior Instructor (Navy) at Defense Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur.
He also served as Commander Operational Sea Training Guide (OSTG), Staff Officer (Ops and Plans) and Director Operations at Naval Headquarters.
He also held important positions as Managing Director of Commodore Naval Aviation (COMNAV) and Bangladesh Shipping Corporation under the Ministry of Shipping.
Rear Admiral M Ziaul Haque in his long and illustrious career served in various important positions in various ships and naval headquarters of Bangladesh Navy and participated in various trainings at home and abroad.
He received training at Defense Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, Armed Forces War Course, Mirpur, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre, Savar, and National Defense College, India. He also completed Anti Submarine Warfare Course from India and Submarine Fire Control Coordination Course from Türkey.
It is mentioned here that he served as a Military Observer in the peacekeeping mission in Ivory Coast.
Rear Admiral Ziaul Haque was awarded the Outstanding Service Medal (OSP) and the National Purity Medal in 2023 for his distinguished service in the Navy.
