Rangpur Northern Private Medical College Hospital locked for noy paying due salary

The angry officers-employees of Rangpur Northern Private Medical College Hospital have locked the main gate demanding the due salary and allowance of Tk 5 Crore. Their complaint is that the directors of the company have stopped their salaries for 26 months due to various challenges. As a result, they are living an inhumane life.
On 24 August 2022, Wednesday around 12 noon, the officials and employees of the hospital held a protest rally in front of the Northern Private Medical College Hospital on Burirhat Road in Rangpur city. The officials and employees complained that the service institution is now in a non-operational state due to the irregularities, corruption and mismanagement of the hospital managers since the protest rally.
They said, currently the unpaid salary of all our staff is over five Crore taka. We are not getting salary for 26 long months. Directors no longer come to the hospital. We are facing financial crisis. The college and hospital together had around 300 staff members.
Many have been laid off by managers without reason for long periods of unpaid wages. Some have voluntarily quit their jobs. Now there are about 150 staff members. Now there are no students in the college. Everyone has migrated and gone elsewhere. Hospital operations are also closed. In this way, if we do not get salary month after month, how will we manage our wife and children? In this regard, we have informed Rangpur City Mayor, Deputy Commissioner, Police Commissioner Rangpur Metro, Civil Surgeon and Superintendent of Police.
Begum Rokeya Lovely, founder chairman of Northern Private Medical College Hospital, said, "Shall I sell the land and pay the salary to the employees?" The hospital is closed, now the admission of students is also closed. Where will I give them money from? I dismissed many of the agitators a year ago. In this regard, the director of the hospital, Doctor Anisur Rahman, said, "I don't know anything about the salary problems of the officers and employees." I myself will get five-six months’ salary. Now it will be seen by the hospital owner.
