Rangpur’s prominent Jamaat leader passes away in Dhaka rally

A prominent Jamaat leader of Rangpur Shah Alam (65) passed away in Dhaka.  He died of a heart attack while attending the national rally of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Suhrawardyadi Udyan in Dhaka at 12 noon on Saturday. (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).  

He felt unwell due to extreme heat after attending the national rally at the Suhrawardyadi Udyan ground in the afternoon. Then he was immediately taken to Islami Bank Hospital at Kakrail in Dhaka where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The late Shah Alam is survived by his wife, 1 son, 1 daughter and numerous esteemed relatives. He was the president of the ‘Diploma Krishibid Forum’ of the Professional-2 Organizational thana of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur Metropolitan Branch

The first funeral prayer of Shah Alam was held at 8:30 am on Sunday at Satgara Central Jame Mosque in Parjatan Para of the city. It was led by Maulana Momtaz Uddin, a member of the Central Working Committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Assistant Director of Rangpur-Dinajpur Region.

The second funeral prayer of the deceased was held at 10:30 am at Hafeziyya Madrasha ground in Moktar Para village, Mominpur Union, Rangpur Sadar Upazila, his village home. The second funeral prayer was led by Prof Mahbubur Rahman Belal, a member of the Central Working Committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and a team member of Rangpur-Dinajpur Region. Among others, the funeral prayers were attended by the Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Vice-Principal Maulana ATM Azam Khan and District Ameer Professor Golam Rabbani, leaders and workers of Jamaat at various levels, as well as local Muslims. Later, his body was buried in the family graveyard in Moktar Para village of Mominpur Union of Rangpur Sadar Upazila.

Upon the death of prominent Jamaat Leader , the Central Working Committee Member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Assistant Director of Rangpur-Dinajpur Region, Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin, Central Working Committee Member and Team Member of Rangpur-Dinajpur Region, Prof Mahbubur Rahman Belal, the Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Vice- Principal Maulana ATM Azam Khan and District Ameer Prof Golam Rabbani, in a condolence message, prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed deep condolences to his bereaved family. Leaders advised his bereaved family to be patient. They said the late Shah Alam was a dedicated leader of the Islamic movement.
