RAJUK recovered 30,000 lost files

Staff Correspondent

Chairman of Rajdhani Unnayan Corporation Md. Anisur Rahman Mia has claimed that 30,000 missing documents of customers are being recovered and no one can take advantage of this incident.

He said that the investigation committee's activities are still going on to identify those involved in missing documents.

He disclosed this information on Monday

In the case of the disappearance of 30,000 documents of Rajuk, many people have expressed concern that if any customer wants to, Rajuk can make irregularities by rubbing the approved original design.

There will also be less opportunity to block Rajuk. Because, the design to challenge is not in Raju now. Even if someone deliberately increases the height of the building, RAJUK will not be able to catch it - say RAJUK officials.

RAJUK Chairman Md. Anisur Rahman said, 'As the application was not destroyed, no one could take advantage of it. But has managed to disturb — our technical experts have told us. The documents are being retrieved and now fresh applications are being taken from the customer.'

Anichur Rahman Mia said, 'The documents that have been lost are not physical documents. These are digital documents. About 22,000 of the 30,000 documents are archived plans. Hard copies of those which have been settled or approved are kept with us," he said. "The final plan is printed and signed while approving it. We have them. It is lost but there is a copy.'

The chairman also said, 8,000 were land use permit and plan approval applications. Both applications have been recovered. In the last week of this month we will be able to start working as before. None of the applications were wasted. The attachment papers that have to be given with the application, have not been found.

He said that the documents scanned and uploaded by the applicants are also with the applicants. In this regard we have sent notice to the applicants to upload it. Many are uploading it. And these papers will be available at the end of this week. Already synchronizing.'

Rajuk chairman said, "People have suffered for a few days. We are sorry for that. BUET is investigating who is responsible, Cyber Police and Computer Council are investigating. Everyone is investigating independently, so it is more acceptable. If our people are responsible for this, departmental and police action will be taken against them. And if outsiders are involved, legal action will be taken.

It may be noted that Rajuk Online Land Use Permit and Plan Approval Service 'Construction Permit' software website (cp.rjuk gov.bd) was launched in May 2019. Login access to the software's website was stopped on December 6 last year.

Technohaven Company Limited, a consulting firm responsible for the management and maintenance of the software, relaunched the software on December 21. But after launching the software, it is found that the attached documents submitted with the customer's application are not available.

In this incident, on December 22 last year, Rajuk's Senior System nalyst Kazi Mohammad Mahabubul Haque filed a general diary at Motijheel police station, alleging data breaching and compromise.
He said that the data repository of the software application was stored in the data center of Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited.
