Rail communication with Sylhet restores after 15 hours

The derailment of the engine and 2 carriages of the inter-city Udayan Express train from Chittagong to Sylhet inside Lauachhara National Park of Kamalganj, Moulvibazar.
After about 15 hours, rail communication with Sylhet has resumed across the country.
The authorities have formed a committee of 5 members to investigate the incident.
Due to the accident, Kalni train journey was cancelled. Also inter-city Parabat Express train left from Srimangal station for Dhaka.
Earlier on Saturday (May 20) around 5:00 AM when the train from Chittagong came to Lauachhara National Park, the engine and the carriage derailed due to a collision with a tree lying on the railway line.
However, no one was injured in the incident, said Railway Police SI Fakhrul Islam.
Bhanugach Railway Station Master Kabir Ahmed said that at 9 am on Saturday, two relief trains from Akhaura and Dhaka went to the spot and started rescue work.
After about 15 hours, train movement was normalized around 7:40 pm.
