As part of the July March program, titled "March to Gopalganj," the vehicle convoy of NCP leaders came under attack. In protest of that incident, the Lalmonirhat District unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami organized a protest march.
On Thursday, the protest was held at the Mission Morh square in Lalmonirhat town, organized by the Lalmonirhat District branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The protest march started from the Boro Mosque area and paraded through the town’s main roads before concluding with a brief rally at Mission Morh.
The program was presided over by Adv Abu Taher, Ameer of Lalmonirhat District Jamaat.
Speakers included District Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Md. Habibur Rahman, District Secretary Advocate Firoz Hayder Lavlu, Jamaat-nominated Member of Parliament candidate from Lalmonirhat-3 constituency Lecturer Harunar Rashid, District Assistant Secretary Hafez Shah Alam, and President of Islami Chhatra Shibir Lalmonirhat District Branch Abu Talib, among others.
