Wife has appointed her own husband as principal defying law of Non-government educational institute in Dupchanchia Technical College under Dupchanchia upazila in Bogura. Besides, Principal has appointed his wife as lecturer in the same college simultaneously.

On the other hand six members of a family have got appointment letter in the same college where a gigantic corruption has seen against the principal too.

In searching the matter it is known that the principal has been working in two educational institutions for more than twelve years by showing thumbs up to the law. Saiful Islam is Sonar. He achieved this impossible with the help of the influential leaders of the area during the tenure of the outgoing government.

According to the investigation, Saiful Islam has been working as a lecturer at Kahalu Adarsh Women's Degree College under Kahalu Upazila besides working as Principal of Dupchanchia Technical College.

It is learnt that Dupchanchia Technical College was established in 2001 and enlisted as MPO in 2019. Since the establishment, there is no accounting of income and expenses. Teacher representatives, parent members and president do not know about the income and expenditure of the college.

Several students of the college, who did not wish to reveal their names, have complained that the principal himself illegally collects monthly salary of Tk 3600 taka from each student Tk 3000-4000 for admission fee, Tk 3000-3500 for session fee, Tk 4000-5000 for form filling from them every year without receipt and Tk 3500-4000 for miscellaneous expenses for every year. The student's form fill is withheld by the principal if the students fail to pay the required amount.

Besides, candidates who pass HSC from the college have to pay Tk 1000 to get their certificate after passing the final exam. In the last session, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Suman Jihadi resolved the complaint against the principal for illegally demanding money from the students. Already, his unlimited corruption has raised questions in the public mind.

Everyone is wondering how he can work in two educational institutions at the same time? The currently working teachers and staff were not spared from the dishonest intentions of the principal. If the college became an MPO in 2019, the teachers and staff were cheated of more than fifteen lakh taka on the pretext of joining MPO.

Besides, the lecturers' original appointment letter, number letter, joining letter and other necessary papers have been cleverly withheld on the pretext of MPO. Due to not being able to pay a large amount of money, they have not returned the necessary documents including the original admit card, appointment letter, joining letter, number card.

Educationist Anwar Hossain said that in the sub-section 15.1 of section 15.0 of Private Technical Education Institutions Manpower Structure and MPO Policy-2018, it is said that under this policy, teachers-employees cannot be employed in multiple positions or in any profitable position at the same time.

Principal Saiful Islam Sonar said, “I am working as a lecturer in Kahalu Adarsh Women's Degree College besides working as principal of Dupchanchia Technical College.” “My name in Dupchanchia Technical College yet not enrolled in MPO.” he added.

Deputy Commissioner Hosna Afroza said getting allegation against the noted principal Saiful Islam they investigated the matter and the entire allegation against the principal has proved. Letter has been sent to the authority concern for taking action against the guilty principal, DC added.
