Press confce on Fisheries Week in Rangpur

A press conference was organized in Rangpur on the occasion of Fisheries Week with the slogan "Nirapod Machhe Bharbo Desh, Bangabandhur Bangladesh".
On 23 July 2022 Saturday morning in the Rangpur District Commissioner conference room under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Asib Ahsan, Fisheries Officer Barujzaman Manik gave a speech presenting the picture of fish production in Rangpur district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Gulam Rabbani, AWM Raihan Shah (Revenue), Assistant Director of District Fisheries Office Sani Khan Majlish, Fisheries Survey Officer Rezaul Kabir and others were also present at this time.
It was informed in the press conference that the fish production of Rangpur district is 62 thousand 69 metric tons but the demand is 63 thousand 96 metric tons. To fill this shortage of fish, various initiatives have been taken, including stocking of fry, establishment of bill nurseries, demonstration fish farms, training of fish farmers, improvement of water bodies, management of government-owned hatcheries, fish farming in paddy fields.
