The plantation campaign and Tree Fair 2025 was officially inaugurated in Narsingdi on Wednesday morning.
The opening ceremony was held at the premises of the Narsingdi District Shilpakala Academy.
Mohammad Rashed Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi, was present as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the fair. The event was jointly organized by the Narsingdi District Administration and the Social Forestry Department.
The ceremony was presided over by Mahmuda Roksena Sultana, Divisional Forest Officer of the Dhaka Social Forestry Division.
Special guests at the event included: Abu Taher Md. Shamsuzzaman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Narsingdi , Kazi Mahinur Rahman, Assistant Forest Conservator, Social Forestry Department, Narsingdi , Sarowar Alam, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate
After the inauguration, the chief guest visited the various stalls at the fair and also planted a tree sapling as part of the campaign.
A total of 20 stalls participated in this year's tree fair, showcasing a variety of saplings and raising awareness about environmental conservation.
