'Pistol Sohel ' is another name for terror in Khulna, including the Contractors Association, LGED, and all related government officials, public representatives, and the general public.

According to relevant sources, he hailed from Dumuria Upazila of Khulna. His job is to create terror by taking out a pistol in a movie style and holding it to people's heads.

During the previous fascist government, he used to introduce himself as the biggest ruling contractor in Khulna and Sheikh Hasina, his relative, the Sheikh family.

This Pistol Sohel claimed that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina knew him.

Wherever he did contracting work, he would first start his power rampage and create terror among the administration and the people of the area.

The government officials there used to misbehave with the engineers, especially the engineers. They used to threaten the engineers by holding pistols to their heads and using low-quality raw materials for contracting work. If the locals said anything about this, they would arrest the people of the area with the police and threaten them with crossfire. There are many such examples.

According to sources, Pistol Sohel was doing the paving work of the Alaipur Bazar road from the Kazdia police station intersection in Rupsa upazila of Khulna district. He used low-quality bricks and dust to carry out the work at night. Mohammad Yunus, son of Abdus Sattar Khan of Pithabhog village, stopped him and advised him not to do such construction work. The then Rupsa police station officer-in-charge Sardar Mosharraf Hossain arrested Md. Yunus at the police station and threatened him with crossfire and made him sign a white paper and release him to his family.

This created panic in the area and no one dared to speak against Pistol Sohel. It is also known that Rupsha Police Station Engineer Md. Wahiduzzaman was not in favor of building a road with such raw materials, so he put a pistol in his head and cheek and intimidated him. Out of fear, the engineer was forced to pay the bill for this cheap work. Due to such thousands of irregularities and terrorist activities, Sohel gradually became known as Pistol Sohel in Khulna, Bagerhat districts and other districts.

Due to revenge against the democratic and rational movement of the student masses against discrimination demanding the resignation of fascist dictatorship and mass murderer Sheikh Hasina, on July 28, 2024, from 1:30 am to 3 am, Khulna Awami League members simultaneously launched a massive attack with shotguns, rifles, guns, pistols, Ramda and Chinese coral iron rods, chapatis and others, with the intention of killing everyone present, including Khulna Metropolitan BNP President Adv Shafiqul Alam.

Pistol Sohel played a leading role at that time. Based on this incident, Md. Asaduzzaman Harun filed a case with the Khulna Judicial Court on December 11, 2024. Case No. 4694/24, this Pistol Sohel is the 45th accused in the case.

In this regard, despite trying to contact Pistol Sohel's mobile phone several times, it was found switched off.
