About two hundred illegal establishments and business establishments on the Chandpur-Comilla regional road have been evicted from Monday morning to noon.

In Bakila Bazaar of Hajiganj Upazila, these illegal business establishments and establishments built on the road were evicted by the joint initiative of the district administration and Soaz Road Department Chandpur.

Hajiganj Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Rifat Jahan were present in the eviction campaign as a representative of the district administration.

He said that this operation is being conducted with the aim of easing the traffic congestion on the roads and facilitating the movement of vehicles. The road department and joint forces have cooperated in implementing the government directives.

Local residents of Bakila said that before this, an evacuation operation was conducted in the Bakila Bazar area of Chandpur-Comilla regional road. But after a few days, this area of the road was again illegally occupied on both sides. The government's money and time spent on evictions is no longer yielding results.

They also said that after learning of the eviction operation, some traders who were in illegal possession demolished their establishments last night and this morning and took away their businesses and goods.

Sub-Divisional Engineer (Additional Duty) of Souz Road Sub-Division Chandpur, Washiuddin Ahmed said, from morning to noon, an operation was conducted to evict illegal structures built in Bakila Bazar of Hajiganj Upazila on the Chandpur-Comilla regional road. At this time, about two hundred illegal establishments and business establishments built on both sides of the road were evicted. Evacuation operations will be conducted at other places on this road in phases.

The army and a group of police from Hajiganj police station fully cooperated in the operation.
