
Open flour to be sold at upazila level in Dinajpur at Tk 24 per kg

A new initiative has been taken in Dinajpur to keep commodity prices stable and ensure access to affordable food for the low-income population. The sale of flour at subsidized prices will start at the upazila level from September 1.
Currently, rice and flour are being sold at subsidized prices under the Open Market Sales of Foodgrains (OMS General) program in Dinajpur city.
From September 1, the sale of flour at OMS at affordable prices will begin in 12 upazilas of Dinajpur district.
District Food Controller Subir Nath Chowdhury confirmed the above information on Tuesday (August 25).
He said that currently, rice and flour are being sold at subsidized prices under the Open Market Sales of Food Grains (OMS General) program in Dinajpur city. From September 1, the sale of flour at OMS at a low price will start in 12 upazilas of Dinajpur district. 12 metric tons of flour will be sold daily in 12 upazilas of Dinajpur. The common people will be able to purchase open flour at 24 taka per kg from the designated sales centers.
