One arrested for attempting to rape disabled child in Dimla

Dimla Police arrested Rafiqul Islam (50), an accused rapist in the attempted rape of an 11-year-old speech-impaired child in Dimla, Nilphamari.
The arrested person was handed over to the court on Wednesday afternoon. Earlier, this unfortunate incident took place in his village in Nautara Union of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon. The arrested Rafiqul is the son of the deceased, Maqbul Hossain of that village. The child's father has filed a case with Dimla Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident.
According to case, on the day of the incident, the child's parents left the child alone at home and went to work as a day laborer. Taking advantage of the fact that no one was at the neighbor Rafiqul's house, he called the child, held her face in his bedroom and tried to rape her by force.
At one point, the child's mother returned home at that time and could not find the child. After searching for a long time, she found the child at the house of her neighbor Rafiqul.
Later, after learning about the incident from the child, she took him to Dimla Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty referred the child to Nilphamari General Hospital. When the incident became known in the area, police arrested Rafiqul. Later, the child's father filed a case.
Confirming the matter , Dimla Police Station OC Fazle Elahi said, the echild's father has filed a case . We have arrested the accused and handed him over to the court.
