Shahidul Islam (Babu), an Office Assistant- cum- Computer Operator of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) has allegedly involved in massive corruption and irregularities in the name of a high-up and a pro-liberation organisation.

He is a class-III, Grade-16 employee of LGED. He is hailed from in Naria Upazila of Shariatpur district, gets a salary of Tk 26, 276 but he has expensive cars, there are flats worth crores of taka .

Many things including land in his name and he looks like a king. It is said that the officers and employees of the department, including the chief engineer, do not have the power to move without his orders.

Either way, the home minister is his right hand. The home minister does not move a step forward despite Babu's words. He kept saying that if there was no Babu in the 12th National Assembly elections, there was no possibility of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal passing.

LGED, who did not want to be named, is said to have spoken to several people, and he has also raised hands on many to achieve his own interests. That is why no one dares to speak against him. Babu works only in name, but his main work is transfer and tender trade.

It is known that this BNP -Jamaat minded employee posing as the leader of Bangabandhu Parishad has been deciding the importance of LGED like the officers in the RDC Building of LGED) for years. When the senior officers of LGED did not listen to him, he introduced himself as the leader of Bangabandhu Parishad and intimidated the officers with some terrorists. Extortion of various forms of forced labour.

It is alleged that he is harassing the officers in various ways to take unethical benefits of recruitment, transfer trade, contract work. No one dares to open his mouth because of his fear. He is said to have grabbed several crores of rupees for handling the cases and securing the jobs of various employees.

And to carry out these unethical terrorist activities, the home minister's photo is hung in the office along with his photo. Virdarpe is doing various types of irregularities. Violates the Government Code of Conduct by being a Class III employee.

Senior officers above him were also seen addressing the brothers. Although there is no valid trade union in LGED, Bangabandhu Parishad and the Home Minister himself are facing many questions for the reputed organization like Shahidul Islam alias Babu LGED.

The officers and employees of the entire LGED building expressed dissatisfaction with the behavior of an employee like him and said that a terrorist like Babu has lost his qualification for public service long ago. But why the authorities are not taking action against him is a mystery.
