Nurul hopes to start new winning streak against UAE

Sports Desk

Nurul Hasan Sohan, vice-captain of the Bangladesh T20 team, has said he hopes to start a new winning streak in the UAE with the two-match T20 series.

Shakib Al Hasan, regular T20 captain of Bangladesh, is not available for this tour. He is now playing in the Caribbean Premier League for Guyana Amazon Warriors. In his absence, Nurul will lead the Bangladesh team.

The Tigers left for the UAE Thursday evening.
"Winning matches in this tour will help boost our confidence ahead of the New Zealand tour and the T20 World Cup," Nurul told the media before flying to Dubai.

The T20 World Cup will take place in late October in Australia. Ahead of this mega event, Bangladesh will play a tri-series in New Zealand that also involves Pakistan alongside the hosts.

Bangladesh will play five matches in the Super 12s of the World Cup. The Tigers will take to the field to play their first match on October 24 and other ones on October 27, 30, and November 2 and 6.

The top two teams from each group of the Super 12s round will qualify for the semifinals, which will be played on November 9 and 10.

The final of the World Cup will be played on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
