The government has confirmed that the notification circulating on Facebook announcing a holiday across the country from 5 to 8 January for the election is fake.
The Ministry of Public Administration said in a notification on Wednesday that a general holiday has been declared on 7 January to facilitate the exercise of voting rights and voting.
