Due to the negligence of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), 57 candidates who passed the 34th BCS has not yet got job though 5 lakh 3 thousand 333 posts of government remain vacant. As a result, the members of these families are living an inhumane life.

Even after passing the competitive exams like BCS, they are not able to think that they have to go from door to door to get a job in Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bengal.

Elderly parents of their families as well as other family members are speechless. It is learnt that the 34th BCS exam circular was released in 2013. Like other candidates, these unemployed candidates also filled the preliminary examination form. As usual they passed the preliminary examination. After completing all the formalities of the written examination they passed the written examination. Later in February 2014 they participated in the viva-voce when they got the call for the viva-voice. The result was published on 29 August 2015 after the viva-voce examination.

As a result, due to shortage of posts in cadre service, these candidates were recommended in non-cadre posts. The then Controller of Examinations (Cadre) A. E. M. Neshar Uddin, asked the candidates to fill up application for non-cadre service. These candidates applied for non-cadre posts. Requisitions also came from various ministries and departments but without completing the recruitment of 34th BCS, the formality of the recruitment process of 34th BCS was ended by announcing the results of 35th BCS in a hurry.

As a result, the life of these candidates who were deprived of employment came to great distress. After collecting requisitions for some posts wanted by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education, they filed a writ petition in the High Court in 2015. After a long hearing, the High Court gave order to appoint the deprived candidates within 90 working days. But BPSC appealed before 90 working days. At present, the lives and livelihood of these candidates are stuck in the Appellate Division. They don't know when the wheel of fortune will turn or when the lamp of hope will go out. The old parents of these families were hoping that their children would get a job and give them two handfuls of food.

Ministry of Public Administration sources said that there are currently 5 lakh 3 thousand 333 posts remain vacant in government jobs. Following the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the ministries and departments are taking initiative to appoint these posts. A letter has already been sent from the Cabinet Division to take measures for recruitment in all ministries and departments.

A 34th BCS passed candidate Md Emdadul Haque said that the elderly parents of these families were hoping that their children would get a government job and provide them with two handfuls of food. But due to the negligence of the BPSC, all their hopes are dashed.

He does not know where life will stop. He also said that honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's kind sympathy and quick intervention can only bring smiles to the faces of the elderly parents and members of these jobless families.
