NBR collects over Tk 3,000cr revenue till Nov 30

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has collected over Taka 3,000 crore as revenue till November 30.
"Some 24 lakh taxpayers have filed their income tax returns till November 30. Against the tax returns, NBR has collected over Taka 3,000 crore as revenue," NBR Public Relations Officer Syed A Momen told this correspondent.
In the last fiscal 2021-22, he said, some 25.48 lakh taxpayers filed their income tax returns.
NBR has extended the income tax return submission deadline for the individual taxpayers by a month till December 31.
NBR expects another 11 lakh returns to be filed in this one month.
There are around 82 lakh online Tax Identification Number (e-TIN) holders in the country.
