A 4-day municipal tax fair has been organized by the Lalmohan Municipality of Bhola with the slogan "Participation through partnership - the development of Lalmohan Municipality will be visible". On Monday (January 20) morning, The municipal administrator and Lalmohan Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Shah Aziz inaugurated the tax fair at the intersection of Lalmohan Municipality.

In his inaugural speech, the municipal administrator Md. Shah Aziz said that in order to build good citizens and for sound development, everyone should pay taxes at their own responsibility. The citizens of Lalmohan Municipality should participate in the municipal tax fair and pay taxes to continue development activities.

Various development activities of the municipality are carried out through the taxes paid by the municipal citizens and salaries and allowances are paid to the officials and employees of the municipality. Lalmohan Municipality has arrears of taxes of about 5 crore taka. If the outstanding tax is paid at the tax fair between January 20 and January 23, a 15% rebate will be given on the outstanding tax.

Lalmohan Municipality Nirbahi Officer Md. Arif Hossain said that there are about 9,500 holdings in the Lalmohan municipality area. Of these, private holdings have an arrears of about Tk 2 crore and government holdings have an arrears of about Tk 3 crore. The owners of government and private holdings have been in tax default for years. For this reason, the municipal administrator has taken the initiative to collect taxes by giving a 15% discount. Even then, if anyone does not pay the tax within the stipulated time, necessary legal action will be taken against them after the fair.

Among others, Lalmohan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Sirajul Islam, Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Masud and various officials and employees of the municipality at various levels and various individuals were present at the inaugural ceremony.
