Mobile court fined meat trader for selling meat mixed with dyes in Longadu

Meat trader Moniruzzaman Mana was caught in the operation of the magistrate while slaughtering sick cows and mixing dyes in the meat and selling it in Mainimukh Bazar, the biggest hill market of Longadu Upazila of Rangamati on Saturday.
Longadu UNO and Executive Magistrate Kofil Uddin Mahmud conducted a mobile court in Mainimukh Bazar and fined the meat trader 20,000 taka in cash according to section 38 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.
Meat trader Moniruzzaman Mana is the son of Basar Ali of Mainimukh Union of Longadu Upazila. He has been regularly selling meat in Maini Bazar. The market committee and locals said that he had cheated the consumers before.
Longadu Upazila Health Officer Anant Chakma said, "Before this, the meat trader had slaughtered sick cows and frozen the meat and sold the spoiled meat. And makes a promise to us, he will never make such a mistake again. But he did the same thing again this Saturday market day morning. He later pleaded guilty.
UNO Kofil Uddin Mahmud said, "The meat seller has been fined Tk 20,000 for admitting the complaint and the market committee has been instructed that he will not be able to sell meat in Maini Bazaar in the future."
At the same time, various traders in various grocery markets and raw markets have been fined according to the type of crime.
