Miscreants cut vein of pharmacy owner's leg in Faridpur

Miscreants cut vein of a pharmacy owner named Mukti Ram Mandal (50) at Boalmari in Faridpur on Friday.

At that time, Tk 50,000 of cash with him were robbed and taken away. Resident of Banmalipur Kamarbari of Rupapat Union of Ram Mandal Upazila.

It is learnt that Ram Mandal was returning home after closing the medicine shop in Sahasrail Bazar around 10 pm on Friday (March 31).

When he reached in front of the house, 5 to 6 gangsters stopped him and tried to snatch the money from him.

When he refused to pay the money, the duo cut the tendon of his right ankle and took Tk 50,000 he had with him. When the family members got the news of the injured, they quickly took him to Alfadanga Upazila Health Complex and from there he was sent to Faridpur for better treatment.

Alfadanga Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Nazmul Hasan said, a person named Ram Mandal was brought to the hospital last Friday night. His right ankle joint was amputated. He was sent to Faridpur Bangabandhu Medical College Hospital with first aid.

Meanwhile, the OC of Boalmari police station Abdul Wahab said, it is not known about the cutting of the vein of the businessman's leg. If a complaint is received in this regard, legal action will be taken subject to investigation.
