JU fresher alleges midnight ragging at hall

A first-year student Angkur Saha of Geography and Environment Department of Jahangirnagar University lodged a complaint of physical and verbal harassment in Shaheed Salam-Barkat Hall by an immediate senior Sayem Hasan Sami of International Relations department.
The victim lodged a complaint to Shaheed Salam-Barkat Hall Provost Sukalyan Kumar Kundu on Thursday.
According to the complaint, the accused used abusive language to the victim. The accused also choked and hit on my hands with stamps.
The victim is feeling insecure and mentally disturbed, the complaint read.
Despite several attempts to contact the accused Sayem Hasan Sami did not reach him.
Shaheed Salam-Barkat Hall Provost Sukalyan Kumar Kundu said, “We received a complaint in this regard. We will investigate it.”
