Japanese team meets DU VC

A 3-member delegation of Nagasaki University and JICA led by Prof. Toyama Takashi called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal today June 11, 2024 at the latter’s office of the university. Other team members were Director of Student Exchange Support Division of the same university Mr.Takeshi Suetsugu and Coordinator for International Cooperation Promotion of JICA Ms Hori Miyuki. DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad was, among others, present on this occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic, research and exchange programs on engineering, fisheries, public health, peace & conflict studies and other subjects between Dhaka University and Nagasaki University. They stressed the need for arranging short-time exchange of faculties, students and researchers between the two universities.
DU VC Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal apprised the delegation of brief history and academic activities of Dhaka University. He said, DU has many MoUs on academic and research collaborations with the leading universities of Japan. We are now interested to undertake joint collaborative academic and exchange programs with Nagasaki University for mutual benefits, DU VC added.
DU VC Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal thanked Prof. Takashi Toyama and other members of Japanese delegation for their visit to and keen interest in undertaking academic and exchange collaborations with Dhaka University.
