Officials of the Audit Department found one lakh liters of diesel short at the Parbatipur depot of Dinajpur of the state-owned company Jamuna Oil Company.

Earlier, Depot Super (DS) Ahsan bin Jamal Tamal was absent from work for 15 days.

General Manager (Marketing) of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) haa formed a five member committee on July 10 to investigate intio the matter.

When asked about this, the head of the investigation committee, BPC General Manager (Marketing). Abul Kalam Azad said, "We have started the investigation. Jamuna Oil Company's Parbatipur Depot Superintendent Ahsan Bin Jamal Tamal has been missing for some time. Along with this, we are investigating whether there is any shortage of oil at the Parvatipur depot.

According to BPC sources, Tamal left from his workplace in Parbatipur Upazila on June 29 to meet his family in Dhaka. He was supposed to join the office on July 1.

When the audit team of the audit department went to the depot on July 1, they also did not find the officer. The audit team then went to the depot to check whether fuel oil stocks were in order.

After that, it was reported that the officer had neglected to take leave. Later the audit team informed the higher authority.

When asked about this, Yamuna Oil Company Deputy General Manager (Operation) Helal Uddin Chowdhury said, "We have filed a GD at the local police station. Apart from this, a new person has been given responsibility in that depot.

Allegations have been made that the officials of the audit department found 1 lakh liters of diesel less in Parvatipur depot. Attempts are also being made to adjust this shortage of oil.

Sajedul Islam, Second Officer of Parbatipur GRP police station, said that a GD has been recorded in the police station regarding the disappearance of the officer of Parvatipur Jamuna Oil Depot on July 3.

The GD mentions that the officer has been missing since July 1.
