
Int'l Confce on Children, Adolescent Literature of BD and Iran starts at DU

A two-day international conference on "Children's and Adolescent Literature of Bangladesh and Iran" initiated by Dhaka University Persian Language and Literature Department started on Saturday at Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium.
Iran's ambassador to Bangladesh Mansoor Chavoshi was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
The convener of this conference and senior professor of the department. Cultural Counselor of Iranian Embassy Syed Reza Mirmohammadi and Al-Mustafa of Dhaka attended the opening ceremony presided over by KM Saiful Islam Khan.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Muhammad Samad inaugurated this conference. Head of International University Huzzatul Islam Walmuslimin Shahabuddin Mashayekhi Raad was present as a special guest. Departmental Chairman Prof. Dr. Mohammad Bahauddin gave a welcome speech and the keynote presentation was presented by Iran's distinguished educationist Prof. Dr. Bahadur Bagheri.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad wished the success of this conference and said that the importance of children's literature is immense in the mental development and beautiful life of children and teenagers.
To learn the mother tongue of children and teenagers, to learn about the language and literature and culture of different countries and nations of the world including their own country
He mentioned that children and teenagers' literary practice should be further increased. He emphasized on family education to make children and teenagers cultured, well-educated and skilled. Ambassador Mansoor Chavoshi expressed his sincere thanks to the teachers, researchers and students of Dhaka University Persian Language and Literature Department for playing a unique role in promoting Persian language and literature in Bangladesh.
He said that children's literature plays an important role in shaping children's character, making them thoughtful, respecting others and making them cultured. He mentioned that through this kind of arrangement, the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Iran will be strengthened and the literary arena of both countries will be further developed.
Hundreds of teachers, researchers and students from different universities of different countries and abroad are participating in this two-day long conference. 4 books will be launched and 34 papers will be presented at the conference.
