India true friend of Bangladesh: Khalid Mahmud

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Prannoy Verma met State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury MP in his office on Monday. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral issues of mutual interest. Md. Mustafa Kamal, senior secretary of the ministry, was present at the time.

The High Commissioner of India congratulated the new government led by Prime Minister Deshratna Sheikh Hasina. The state minister said, they discussed sea, river and port. He said, India is a true friend of Bangladesh. The relationship with India is written in blood since the liberation war. They want to stay with all our developments.

They will be with all the steps taken by the Ministry of Shipping and the Government for the development. It will work to further the connectivity between the two countries. Matarbari is a deep sea port and Payra Port.

Various Indian businessmen are interested in investing in the economic zone that is being developed around the Payra port. Boat tourism has started between the two countries. There is some problem with visa on arrival. Working to make it easier. Bangabandhu's diplomatic policy was "not enmity with anyone, friendly with all." Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is moving forward according to that policy.

The state minister said that those who were apprehensive and skeptical about the election - their mistake has been broken. They are now coming forward to support the new government.
