Humayun Kabir joins as Information and Broadcasting Secretary

Newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md Humayun Kabir Khandaker on Thursday joined office at the Information and Broadcasting Ministry in the Secretariat.

Officers and staff of the ministry as well as different departments welcomed and congratulated Humayun on his appointment as the information and broadcasting secretary.

He started his office after a meeting with Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud.

Humayun, a member of the 10th BCS Administration Cadre, joined the civil service in 1991.

He discharged his duties as assistant commissioner, first class magistrate, upazila nirbahi officer, additional deputy commissioner, deputy commissioner, cantonment board executive officer, divisional commissioner, personal secretary of political advisor to the Prime Minister, joint secretary and additional secretary of Road Transport and Bridges Ministry and secretary of the Election Commission.

He got Information and Communication Technology Award in 2014 and Public Administration Award in 2016.

He did his honours and masters from the Department of Philosophy of Dhaka University. Humayun visited different countries including the USA, the UK, , China, Japan, France, Switzerland and Sri Lanka for official purposes.

In personal life, he is married and father of a daughter and a son.
