Human chain was formed and memorandums have been submitted by all levels of journalist society of Rajbari demanding the withdrawal of the false case filed against Engineer Mohammad Moniruzzaman Khan, Publisher of daily Rajbari Kantho of Rajbari district.

A human chain program was held in front of Rajbari District Commissioner's office at 12 noon on Thursday. At the end of the human chain, the memorandum was given to the advisor of the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Deputy Commissioner. Later the memorandum was also given to the Superintendent of Police.

Speaking during the human chain, Rajbari Press Club president Adv. Khan Md. Zahurul Haque. Rajbari Press Club vice-president M. Moniruzzaman, Senior Vice President Md Mosharf Hossain, Vice President Kazi Abdul Quddus Babu, Deputy General Secretary Md Jahangir Hossain, Member M. Delwar Hossain, Rajbari District Reporters Club President Liton Chakraborty, General Secretary Sohel Rana, District Press Club President Karim Ishaq, General Secretary Soumitra Sheel Chandan, Rajbari Reporters Unity President Helal Mahmud, General Secretary Md. Shihabur Rahman, Mofswal Journalist Forum President Kabir Hossainetc.In the memorandum, the publisher of daily Rajbari Kantha newspaper, published regularly from Rajbari district, prominent business engineer Mohammad Moniruzzaman Khan has been sponsoring a non-partisan newspaper as the main sponsor of the newspaper.

Not only publishing newspapers, but as a selfless social worker and non-political person, he has been conducting philanthropic activities including construction of various mosques, madrasas, educational institutions in the region. Even on the recent "Student Uprising Day" on August 5, he actively participated in Uttara in the capital Dhaka, distributed food, water and soft drinks among the anti-discrimination students and buried the grave of Shaheed Sagar, a brave student of Baliakandi Upazila, Rajbari, who was shot by miscreants in the capital DhakaZiarat and promised to build a memorial and arch next to his grave.But the sad thing is that despite participating in various ways as a female supporter of the anti-discrimination student movement, a self-interested group targeted Engineer Mohammad Moniruzzaman Khan in two cases of Savar Police Station, Mirpur, Dhaka, in order to question the historic victory of the studentshas been categorized.

Apart from this, various police stations including Kalukhali of Rajbari are continuing to file cases by referring to fictitious incidents by various persons. In this regard, we, the journalist society of Rajbari, want to say clearly that if any person is involved in the attack on the students, we have no say in taking legal action including filing a case against him.But we are shocked and surprised that a case has been filed against a person who has not the slightest involvement in any incident. Because Engineer Mohammad Moniruzzaman Khan stayed outside the country from July 19 to July 22 for his eye treatment and for performing Umrah Hajj he stayed outside the country from August 6 to August 12. But filing a case and classifying the accused on the basis of the incident of stay outside the country is really unintended.

On behalf of Rajbari journalist society, I strongly condemn this incident and demand exemption from the mentioned cases subject to impartial investigation. Otherwise the rule of law and justice will be obstructed.
