History of Mujibnagar govt should be spread among young generation: Dr Muhammad Samad

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) engaged in the routine duties of the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University. Muhammad Samad highlighted the context and history of the first legally and systematically formed 'Mujibnagar Government' of Bangladesh and said that the history of this government formed by Bangabandhu as president on the soil of Bangladesh during the liberation war should be spread among the young generation.

He said, this Mujibnagar government is a reflection of the political foresight of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali nation father of all time. The independence of Bangladesh was accelerated due to this government formed under the leadership of Bangabandhu. The anti-independence circles are still indulging in misguided attempts to debunk the Mujibnagar government and the Great War of Liberation.

The new generation should be careful about these evil forces and should know the correct history of the liberation war.

On the occasion of the historic Mujibnagar Day on Wednesday, he said these in the president's speech at a discussion meeting at the TSC auditorium.

In the discussion meeting, Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar, the president of the teacher's association. Md. Leaders of Officers Association, Employees Association, Technical Employees Association and Class IV Employees Union along with Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan spoke. Dhaka University Registrar Prabir Kumar Sarkar conducted the program.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad highlighted the background and significance of the formation of the historic Mujibnagar government and said that everyone including the young generation should know why, how, when, where and with whom this Mujibnagar government was formed.

Paying deep respect to Bangabandhu's immortal memory, he said, Bangabandhu had formulated a blueprint for liberation war and freedom very wisely. The great liberation war of Bangladesh was conducted under the leadership of this Mujibnagar government which was systematically formed according to the outline, plan and instructions made by him. We must always remember Bangabandhu's long struggle, endless sacrifice, dedication, patriotism, honesty and political strategy to achieve great freedom through freedom struggle.

He urged everyone to spread the correct history and context of the formation of Mujibnagar government including Bangabandhu's declaration of independence on March 26, 1971, Bangabandhu's colorful and struggling lifestyle, the great liberation war, from generation to generation.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar said, Mujibnagar government was formed under the guidance of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the context of torture, oppression and betrayal of the people of this country with the aim of achieving our freedom. He mentioned that this Mujibnagar government was formed to give a democratic and structural form to our freedom struggle under the leadership of Bangabandhu.
