The Indian radar kept a close watch on the aircraft as it entered Indian airspace and flew over Kolkata as they knew who was in the plane. Indian Air Force personnel also activated two Rafale fighter aircraft to provide any assistance to the flight in case of any emergency, top defence sources told India Today TV.

As former Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina left the country and headed towards India, the security agencies ensured her safe flight to Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad on Monday evening.

Hasina flew to India in a C-130J transport aircraft with call sign AJAX, which was spotted flying near the Indian border at a low altitude at around 3 pm.
