HC orders AL MP Murshedy to hand over his occupied properties in Gulshan to govt

Court Correspondent

The High Court has issued an order directing Awami League lawmaker Abdus Salam Murshedy, from Khulna-4 constituency, to relinquish his occupied residence and properties in Gulshan area of Dhaka to the government.

The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Ebadot Hossain delivered the verdict following a holding hearing on a writ petition seeking directives to recover the Gulshan residence reportedly occupied by Abdus Salam Murshedy.

The HC in its verdict also termed it an abandoned property and asked Salam Murshedy to hand over the property to the government through the secretary of the housing and public works ministry within three months of receiving the order.
