
Hasina’s son Joy takes US citizenship

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son and former Information and Technology Adviser to the previous Awami League government has taken a US passport.
According to reliable sources, The Country Today has learnt that on Saturday, Sajeeb Wazed Joy took the oath for US citizenship at the US Citizenship Center in Washington D.C., and later received his citizenship certificate.
After receiving the certificate, he also applied for a passport. A total of 22 citizens from various countries participated in the oath ceremony. It is known that three Bangladeshis were present at the oath ceremony and they also took the oath. Among them was Sajeeb Wazed Joy.
An individual present at the oath ceremony, who wished to remain anonymous, reported that Sajeeb Wazed Joy came to the event accompanied by a lawyer. During the oath, after the country starting with the letter 'A' in English, the name of Bangladesh, starting with 'B', was called. Among the three Bangladeshis who took the oath, Sajeeb Wazed Joy was the second.
It is mentioned that on April 24, Sajeeb Wazed Joy claimed on his verified Facebook page, “For everyone's information, I would like to state that I do not have any foreign passport. I have permanent residency in the United States. I proudly travel with my green Bangladeshi passport.”
