Handing over house keys to homeless in Goalando

Goalando Upazila Parishad of Rajbari under wuth Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Zakir Hossain in the chair on the occasion of Mujib Barsha, Ashrayan Project-2 in the fourth phase of the house keys and land deeds transfer programme was held among the homeless families in this upazila like the rest of the country.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the handing over of house keys and land deeds through a virtual meeting in the upazila auditorium hall on Wednesday morning.

After the Prime Minister's inauguration, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Zakir Hossain handed over house keys and land deeds given by the Prime Minister to the landless and homeless.

Upazila Awami League General Secretary Biplab Ghosh, Upazila Women's Vice Chairman Nargis Parveen, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Syed Amirul Haque, Goland Ghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Swapan Kumar Majumdar, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Abu Said Mondal were present.

Members of print and electronic media were present. According to upazila administration sources, a total of 15 residential houses have been handed over in Goaland upazila today along with the whole country in the fourth phase of the Prime Minister's shelter project on the occasion of Mujib Barsha. With this, a total of 684 houses were handed over in the upazila.

In the 4th phase semi-furnished houses are being constructed for each landless and homeless. Built on 2 percent land, the house has two bedrooms in each room, a balcony, kitchen and bathroom with various amenities. 2 lakh 84 thousand 5 hundred taka was allocated for the construction of each house.
