Handcuffed body of businessman recovered in Manikganj

In Manikganj, a vegetable trader was killed and an easybike and cash were snatched. Police recovered his handcuffed body from a crop field in Teradona area of Betila-Balirtek road around 8am on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Robin (28), son of Mojibur Rahman of Kalasi village under Bhararia union.

According to local sources, around 3 pm on Sunday, Robin was going to the Manikganj vegetable market on the easybike of Hiran of the same village. In the Teradona area of Betila-Balirtek road on the way, 8/10 miscreants stopped them by throwing bamboo on the road. Then the two were taken in two directions. Hiran lost consciousness due to head injury. In Gyanfir, the businessman saw Robin's hands and feet tied and his naked body. Later the police was informed.

Hiron, the driver of the easybike, said that the miscreants looted his easybike, two and a half thousand rupees in cash and 10 to 12 thousand taka from Robin.

Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Akbar Ali Khan said, “The body was recovered and sent to the morgue for autopsy. Police are working to unravel the mystery of the murder, whether it was due to kidnapping, pre-enmity or any other reason.”
