The Ideal School and College of Motijheel in the capital is going to elect the governing body without complying the 'Establishment, Teaching and Academic Accreditation Policy of Private Educational Institutions' of 2022.

It has been alleged that the election was organized to create opportunities for corruption as before by keeping all the branch campuses under the main campus under control.

According to sources, the election schedule was announced from the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka on March 19. As per schedule, distribution and submission of nomination papers are on March 20, 21 and 24.

Besides, the election of nomination papers on March 25 and withdrawal of nomination papers on March 27 and on April 19, polling will be held from 10 am to 4 pm continuously.

It is informed in the schedule, according to regulation 16 of the "Governing Body and Managing Committee of Private Educational Institutions of Secondary and Higher Secondary Level Regulations 2009", the schedule for the election of Governing Body of Ideal School and College has been announced.

As per the announced schedule, a governing body election has been organized for all the campuses. But on November 30, 2022, the Department of Secondary and Higher Education said, "According to the policy of private educational institutions, all approved branch campuses should form separate governing bodies". Clause 10 of the policy states that individual EIIN shall be adopted; Each campus or branch of the educational institution should specify the location of the campus, separate manpower structure and management committee should be formed for each campus or branch of the educational institution.

By keeping all branch campuses under the main campus without complying with this law, the governing body embezzled and embezzled lakhs of rupees through recruitment-corruption. After the publication of the investigation report of the Department of Inspection and Audit, there was a storm of criticism on the matter. Still, the election has been organized without following the policy made by the ministry. Earlier, even when a secretary to the government was the president of the institution, he did not take the initiative to separate the branch campus or form a separate governing body. After that, the additional secretary of the Ministry of Education has been made the president of the governing body.
The new president of the governing body is Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Education (Secondary Division-2). Rabiul Islam said, "This institution has been running with a governing body with branch campuses for a long time. If the branch compasses are different then separate governing bodies will be formed. According to related sources, the new president called on all concerned to move the institution forward by changing the image of past corruption.

Meanwhile, some are trying to form 'pocket committees' as part of their attempt to control the governing body. Complaints have been made that nomination form is not being given to a person whose name is in the voter list.

When asked, the acting principal of Ideal School and College Emam Hossain said, "The schedule of elections has been prepared for the formation of the governing body for all branches." However, the acting principal did not give any reply regarding the complaint.

President of Guardian Oikya Forum, veteran freedom fighter Ziaul Kabir Dulu, said that the branch campuses should be separated according to the policy of the Ministry of Education, and arrangements should be made to form a separate governing body.

The schedule should be postponed and a new separate voter list should be prepared. Now is the opportunity to implement the policies of the President, the senior government official, the Ministry of Education. Motijheel Ideal School and College, Vikarunnisa Noon School and College and Manipur School and College — the presidents of these three institutions are government people, why can't they implement the policies of the government.
