Gift of houses to widows, destitute women at initiative of 37 BGB zones in Longdau

Marking the Bengali New Year, Pahela Baishakh 1431, the Zone Commander of 37 BGB Rajnagar Zone Lt. Col. Shah Md. Shakeel Alam, SPP handed over a house to a helpless widow.

It is learnt that a resident of Bagachattar Union of Longadu Upazila of Rangamati District, widow Mosha Samatva Banu was living in a house on an acre of land left by her husband with her child. But a few years ago, his homestead along with the land papers were burnt in a fire. As they could not afford to build a new house, they left the place where they lived and lived in the neighbor's house.

In such a difficult time, they received financial help from the local Iqbal Hossain (Raju Master) at various times. As a result of taking money for a long time, at one stage Md. Iqbal Hossain (Raju Master) asked to give up one acre of the abandoned house occupied by Mocha Samatva Banu against the money owed. Md. Iqbal Hossain (Raju Master) got angry and filed a case against Mocha: Samatva Banu for not releasing the claim of the said land by Mocha: Samatva Banu.

In this situation, Mocha Samatwa Banu's son sold the possession of the land to Md. Iqbal Hossain (Raju Master) without informing his mother. The matter came to the notice of Rajnagar BGB Zone as the said homestead is near post No. 10 abandoned in Rajnagar zone.

In this regard, the matter was discussed with Md. Iqbal Hossain (Raju Masterre) in the presence of local dignitaries on behalf of Rajnagar BGB Zone. As a result, Md. Iqbal Hossain (Raju Master) agreed to give one third of the said land to Mocha: Samatwa Banu for living.

Later, Samattabanu requested a room to stay near the zone captain. He has been provided financial assistance by Rajnagar Zone in the past at various times. In view of his demand, Rajnagar Zone has built a new 01 kitchen and 01 toilet with a beautiful and tidy house as a resting place for the widowed woman in her last age, with the funding of Rajnagar BGB Zone.

After the completion of all the construction work of the residence, on 14th April 2024 (01 Baisakh 1431), Mocha Samatva Banu was given the key of the new house. On Monday, April 15, on the occasion of entering the new home, the zone skipper handed over the symbolic keys to the widow Mocha: Samatva Banu through a small ceremony and a tea ceremony. 37 BGB zone captain Lt. was present at the event.

Colonel Shah Mohammad Shakeel Alam, Assistant Director of Atra Zone Nazmul Hossain, Bagchattar UP Chairman Md. Abul Basar and Gulshakhali UP Chairman Md. Shafiqul Islam, UP members, local headmen, businessmen and dignitaries attended the presentation of the house as a donation.

Samatva Banu is overjoyed, excited and grateful to Rajnagar Zone to get the residence as a place to stay.

The local administration and residents of Rajnagar Zone (37 BGB) expressed their gratitude to BGB for such philanthropic and humanitarian activities.
