Md . Mominur Rahman, DC, Chattogram  has called upon the heroic freedom fighters to play a role in strengthening the hands of the Prime Minister .
He made the call at a views exchange meeting with Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Chattogram Metropolitan and Muktijoddha Sangsad Sontan Command Metropolitan Committee at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on Monday last.
Mominur Rahman said, Bangladesh would not have been independent if the heroic freedom fighters had not jumped into the great liberation war under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The contribution of the heroic freedom fighters behind the independence of the country is unforgettable. He said that everyone, including the present generation, should keep a watchful eye so that no one can ever snatch the freedom gained in return for the sacrifices of the heroic freedom fighters. As long as I live, I will cooperate with the heroic freedom fighters with the highest respect.
DC said Ministry of Liberation War Affairs would be informed to prepare an accurate list of the heroic freedom fighters of Chattogram. . As long as the Prime Minister is alive, his hand must be strengthened. He said the Election Commission would be informed on the day of the city elections so that the heroic freedom fighters could go to a separate line and exercise their voting right with dignity .Md/ Mominur Rahman said that steps would be taken to build a Liberation War Memorial Complex and a memorial in the aesthetic place of Chattogram. .Kazi Nurul Abshar, one of the witnesses of the International Criminal Tribunal, Khorshed Alam, Assistant Commander of Mahanagar Muktijoddha Sangsad and Md. Nur Uddin Akbarshah Thana Deputy Commander also spoke on the occasion.
