Fire gets 8 shops in Hossionpur, losses over Tk.2.50 cr estimated

At least eight shops were gutted in a fire in Hossionpur Bazar of Kishoreganj on early Friday,with business owners estimating losses of over Tk .2.50 cr.
According to local sources, the fire started at 4:30 in the morning in the market and spread around within moments. A pharmacy, two hardware stores, two hotels, a grocery store, a shoe store and a liquor store were burnt to ashes.
Shamsul Haque, Staion Officer of Fire Services and Civil Defence said that,On receiving information about the fire, 4 units of the fire service rushed to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control in about two and a half hours.However, the cause of the fire is still unknown.
Hossionpur , Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Anindita Mandal,Municipality Administrator, also AC land Farid Al Sohan came to the spot.
UNO Anindita Mandal also said that financial assistance will be provided to the affected businessmen.
