Everyone should work together to build smart Bangladesh: Tajul Islam

Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Tajul Islam said, those who are in LGED have talent and ability. We have to achieve the target. Smart Bangladesh should be built. We all have to work together for this.
He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the workshop organized on the progress of the development work and administrative activities under the implementation of LGED in the financial year 2023-2024 in the construction of Smart Bangladesh in the Kamrul Islam Siddique Auditorium at the LGED headquarters on Thursday.
The special guest of the workshop, local government department secretary Muhammad Ibrahim said, LGED has a special role in the strong foundation of development across the country. The Directorate of Local Government Engineering is a professional body. LGED has time and again proved its mettle in getting any job done smoothly. He also said, we are proud of the work of LGED. LGED is very important in rural development.
Chief Engineer of LGED Ali Akhter Hossain presided over he workshop.
The Chief Engineer said, the Minister has given attention to improve the quality of work of LGED, taking up new projects, climate change and adaptation, social, environmental protection, gender, use of modern technology and quality of construction materials.
He said that the LGRD Minister has given 51-point directions to the LGED engineers to protect the quality of construction work. This directive serves as the guiding principal for LGED.
LGED is moving forward in keeping with the development philosophy of the present government to build a developed country and the dynamism of the ministry under the leadership of Hon'ble Minister.
LGED Additional Chief Engineer Md. gave a welcome speech at the workshop. Nur Hossain Howlader. Senior officials of the Ministry, Additional Chief Engineers of LGED, Supervising Engineers, Project Managers of various projects, Executive Engineers, Senior Assistant Engineers, Assistant Engineers, foreign consultants working on various projects were present at the workshop. Engineers from different levels of LGED across the country were connected online in the workshop.
