Eid presentations distributed among 2500 poor families in Mongla

Md Zulfikar Ali, ex-Mayor of Mongla Pourashava started to distribute Eid presentations to 2500 poor families of the Pourashava on Friday morning from his local Madrasa Road residence so that they (poor families) can celebrate the ensuing holy Eid-ul-Fitr in a festive mood. Each of the poor family is getting 10 kg rice, cash Tk.500, one piece Shari, one piece Lungi and one piece shirt as Eid presentation. The distribution of the Eid presentations will continue till the last day of the holy Ramadhan.
In the previous years he used to distribute rice. pulse, sugar, edible oil, Chola and other essential commodities at lower price among the poor from his own fund.
Another report adds: Talukdar Rina Sultana, a local Woman Awami League leader distributed new dresses among 200 poor children ceremonially on Friday morning on behalf of a local volunteer organization styled as ‘Shyamal Chya’ at Sharai within Bagerhat Pourashava. On the occasion S M Nazmus Sakib, Social welfare Officer of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila, Al-haj Abdul Baki Talukdar, Commissioner of Ward No.6 of Bagerhat Pourashava, Abdullah Boni, General Secretary of Shyamal Chya volunteer organization, Rakibul Islam Raju and some others.
