Dhaka University Mathematics Department Retired Professor Dr. Munibur Rahman Chowdhury and the retired professor of Banking and Insurance Department Muhammad Mujahidul Islam death of the vice-chancellor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal expressed deep condolences.

On Sunday in a condolence message, the Vice-Chancellor said, Professor Dr. Munibur Rahman Chowdhury and Professor Muhammad Mujahidul Islam were distinguished teachers and researchers of Dhaka University. Both of them were devoted and ethical teachers. These virtuous teachers with liberal and humanitarian values were very talented, decent, humble and modest people.

Numerous research articles of both have been published in various international journals of the country and abroad. Besides, they have performed their duties with great efficiency and integrity in various important positions including department chairman.

Both were very popular with the teachers and students of the department. Prof. Dr. Munibur Rahman Chowdhury and Professor Muhammad Mujahidul Islam will be remembered for their immense contribution to the spread of banking and insurance education and research, the Vice-Chancellor said.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

It should be noted that Professor Dr. Munibur Rahman Chowdhury passed away on Saturday 27th July 2024 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital. He was 83 years old at the time of his death. Professor Muhammad Mujahidul Islam passed away on Saturday 27th July 2024 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital. He was 67 years old at the time of his death.
