In commemoration of 'Black Night ' on March 25, 1971, Dhaka University Authority and Dhaka University Teachers Association will observe 'Genocide Day' on Saturday ( March 25).

Various programmes have been taken to celebrate the day with due dignity.

On this occasion, on Saturday , a candlelight vigil will be held at Smriti Chirantan Chatwar of the University, a documentary screening at 7.05 pm and a discussion meeting at 7.20 pm.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman will preside over the discussion meeting. Pro-Vice Chancellor SM Maqsud Kamal and Treasurer Prof. Momtaz Uddin Ahmed President of Special Society Prof. Dr. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan and General Secretary Professor Dr. Zeenat Huda will speak. "Bøk-out" program will be observed in all places of the university except emergency facilities for 01 minutes from 10:30 pm to 10:31 pm.

On the occasion of the day, special prayers will be offered in mosques in the residential area of the university including Bad Zohar Masjidul Jamia and other religious places of worship to seek forgiveness/peace of the souls of the martyrs.

Program of Great Independence and National Day: On the occasion of the celebration of Great Independence and National Day, Dhaka University authorities have taken a detailed program on Sunday, March 26, 2023. The program includes hoisting of the national flag at all central buildings and residential halls of the university at 6 am on March 26, gathering at Smriti Chirantan Chatwar at 6 am and marching to the National Memorial at 6.15 am and offering prayers.

On the occasion of the day, special prayers will be offered at Bad Zohar Masjidul Jamia and other religious places of worship in the university area to seek forgiveness/peace of the souls of the martyrs.

Besides, Curzon Hall and TSC will be illuminated and sweets will be distributed among the children of university employees.
