However, due to lack of water, most of the paddy fields burst. Newly planted rice seedlings are drying up and dying. A few farmers are planting paddy with water with the help of shallow machine. But as soon as water is given to the land, the land dries up again. Due to the increase in the price of oil, farmers are also worried about providing water. They have to pay extra.

Suruj, Helal, a farmer of Chramchaland Baluakanda village, said that since there was no rain this year, they had to use shallow machines and electric motors to irrigate the land. They have to struggle to meet the additional expenses.

Locals said that they are worried about the crop of the land as the crop fields burst. Due to lack of water, many people are not able to plant Aman paddy in the land. Marginal farmers will suffer losses if there is a disruption in cultivation.

According to Upazila Agriculture Office sources, the target of Aman paddy cultivation has been set on 7 thousand 200 hectares of land in the upazila during the current Aman season. Already the target of Aman paddy cultivation has been achieved in about 5 thousand 300 hectares of land.
