
Development activities, progress of LGED projects reviewed

A review meeting of development activities and progress of various development projects implemented under the Local Government Engineering Department ( LGED) was held at LGED Headquarters on Wednesday.
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md. Tajul Islam MP was present as chief guest.
The meeting was presided over by Md. Ali Akhtar Hossain, Chief Engineer of the LGED.
In the speech of the chief guest, Md. Tajul Islam, MP said that the basic foundation of economic development is improved through communication system and this work is done by LGED. The quality of infrastructure development including roads, bridge protection walls should be maintained properly.
In the speech of the special guest, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharya MP said that the projects undertaken by LGED should be implemented on time.
Director General of Local Government Department (Planning) Dr. Md. Sarwar Bari said if the projects undertaken by the current government can be properly implemented to change the fate of people.
LGED Chief Engineer Md. Ali Akhtar Hossain said that the project work will be completed within the stipulated time while maintaining the quality of the development works will be done properly.
The chief engineer also said, transparency and accountability will be ensured in the implementation of project works.
LGED Additional Chief Engineer Md. Noor Hossain Howladar gave a welcome speech. LGED's various projects were briefed by Superintending Engineer Md. Jasim Uddin. Md. Rahul Amin Khan, Project Director of IRDP-3 also spoke. Other officers and employees of LGED were present.
