Trees have been cut down to make an open stage at the Islamic University (IU). Three trees were felled in the Battala area of the university since Sunday (March 03) morning. Ordinary students expressed their anger.

We know these trees provided shade to the entire Battala area along with increasing the own beauty of the Battala. The students used to get relief by sitting here for various times. In this situation, Battala has lost its beauty due to the aggression of the administration by cutting the trees.

Meanwhile, there are two academic buildings at a distance of about 30 meters from the newly constructed Mukta Manch. Two academic buildings house at least a dozen department labs and class rooms. The students of engineering and technology faculty demand that if open stage is created near the class room, our education environment will be spoiled. The main task of the university is to create an environment for learning. The free stage must be moved elsewhere immediately.

Irin Sultana Asha, a third-year student of the Journalism department of the university, said, 'The ancient trees of the university are our wealth. It is our moral duty to preserve them. If the university administration has to cut these trees, then I demand to take alternative measures. Though we have also bangla mach,in a year properly ten programs donot held in this manch.Here, creating free stage by cutting trees is not reasonable.

In this regard, the chairman of the department of applied chemistry and chemical engineering. Sharif Md. Al-Reza said, "Our class exams are disturbed if the program is bogus." Then if open stage is created again in the same area, in that case our class will be more disturbed in the exam. We will demand that the thing be done elsewhere.

In this regard, the acting chief engineer of the university. K. M Sharif Uddin said, the university gave me a task. I have informed the administration about the demand for this work. I don't know more than that.

Professor Dr. Proctor of the University in this regard. Shahadat Hossain Azad said, 'The matter is not a function of the proctor. The authorities concerned can say better.'
