DC distributes relief at flood shelter in Kulaura

In the ongoing flood situation in Kulaura of Moulvibazar, low income people have fallen into extreme misery due to waterlogging. The district administration and the upazila administration have come forward with the help of those waterlogged people.

Thursday 23rd June In the afternoon, Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan inspected the Hakaluki Haor area and distributed relief to the flood-hit people. He was talking to the people at the flood shelter. Besides, the administration is distributing dry food, baby food and relief to the flood victims in different shelters of the upazila every day. Following this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's greetings, relief, baby food for children and cow food for cattle were distributed among the people at the shelter on Thursday.

Among the flood victims at Bhukshimil School and College Flood Shelter, Kairachak Government Primary School and Ghat Bazar Shed Ghar Shelter Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan distributed the food items. At 3 pm on Thursday, June 23, Bhukshimil Union's Bhukshimil School and College Shelter, Kairachak Government Primary School Shelter and Ghaterbazar Shed Shelter stood by the affected people and handed over dry food as a greeting to the Prime Minister.

Principal AKM Shafi Ahmed Solman, Chairman of Kulaura Upazila Parishad and Senior Vice President of Upazila Awami League was also present. PM's Protocol Officer-2 Mohammad Abu Zafar Raju, Kulaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer ATM Farhad Chowdhury, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Dr. Ferdous Akter, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Mehedi Hasan, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Zakir Hossain, PIO Md. Shimul Ali, Public Health Engineer Md. Muhosin, Bhukshimil UP Chairman Azizur Rahman Monir, Senior Journalist Md. Mosabbir Ali, Upazila Sanitary Inspector Jasim Uddin, Upazila Scouts General Secretary Sohel Ahmed, Mukta Scout Group General Secretary Ashikur Rahman Babus, and representatives of electronic and print media including Kulaura were present.

The dry food consisted of 200 packets of chira, mudri, molasses, pure water, 100 packets saline, rice 10 kg, lentils 1 kg, iodine salt 1 kg, edible oil 1 liter, salt 1 kg, chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder 1 packet, baby food 40 packets, sugar powder rice 1 kg, milk 200 gms, 1 kg of sugar, 500 gms of sago, 500 gms of semolina, 250 gms of lentils, 1 liter of soybean oil, 40 packets of beef.
