Former Member of Parliament Advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia has received the party nomination of Bangladesh Awami League for the post of Mayor in Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Election. This information was informed in a circular signed by Barrister Biplab Barua, secretary of Bangladesh Awami League on Wednesday .

According to the press release, Awami League General Secretary, Obaidul Quader has announced the name of Awami League nominated candidate Advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia for the post of Mayor in the upcoming Rangpur City Corporation election under the direction of Bangladesh Awami League Local Government People's Representative Nomination Board and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina.

According to Rangpur election office sources, Awami League started selling nomination forms for the post of mayor in Rasik election from November 20. November 23, 2022 was the last day for sale and submission of nomination forms.

According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission on November 7, Rangpur City polls will be held on December 27. Last date for submission of nomination papers is 29 November. Last day for selection of nomination papers on December 1 and withdrawal of nomination papers is December 8. Symbols will be allotted on December 9.

According to the information of Rangpur City Election Returning Officer, since the announcement of the schedule, a total of 218 candidates including 8 candidates for the post of mayor, 157 for the post of general councilor and 53 for the post of reserved councilor have collected nomination papers from the Rangpur Regional Election Office.
