
Coast Guard launches week-long campaign in Saint Martin's to raise public awareness, promote environmental development

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has launched a week-long campaign in Saint Martin's Island to raise public awareness, promote environmental development, distribute relief, and provide free medical services, along with various other community service activities.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-ur-Rashid provided this information in a press release on Sunday afternoon.
The role of the Coast Guard in raising public awareness and promoting socio-economic development in coastal and island areas is indispensable. In this context, the Bangladesh Coast Guard Eastern Zone has been working tirelessly to establish peace and order along the coast and ensure public safety. Through its stations and outposts under the Eastern Zone, the Bangladesh Coast Guard conducts various community service activities, including raising public awareness, environmental development, distribution of relief, and provision of free medical services.
As part of the ongoing week-long campaign starting from May 11, 2025, the BCG Station Saint Martin, in collaboration with local administration, organized cleanliness drives, fire safety training, and drills with participation from the local community, including students and workers. Additionally, over 150 island residents, including teachers and students from local schools and madrasas, took part in these activities.
Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such public service activities in the future.
